We are often asked: "Can I straighten my footpeg bracket?". The answer is NO! It's cast aluminum. If you heat it and bend it back, you destroy its internal structure. On the next jump, it will snap cleanly, and injury is guaranteed. These plates are mechanical fuses. If it bends, you replace it. The fact that the screws are supplied with it is a great point: when the plate bends, the screws shear and often twist with it. Replace with new parts, apply some thread locker, and you're back riding safely.
