At JW Shop, an original machine is above all a blank canvas, a starting point. It's with this philosophy that we welcomed our brand new 2024 Sur-Ron Ultra Bee. Our mission: to transform it into a true enduro beast, without compromising on performance and, above all, on reliability. In this article, we'll take you behind the scenes of the workshop to discover this preparation from A to Z.
Phase 1: Aesthetics and Cockpit
To begin, we wanted to give this Ultra Bee a clean and aggressive visual identity. A custom Riders Unik decal kit, enhanced by touches of color provided by a Warp 9 titanium screw kit, laid the groundwork. The KTM-style front plate and our JW seat cover complete the look.
The cockpit was optimized for attack with an Odi handlebar and a custom Torp V2 display mount. For foot grip, the Warp 9 Racing footpegs, sanded by Will for a unique black and chrome effect, offer perfect support.
Phase 2: Power and Chassis
The heart of the preparation lies in the electronics. The original controller has been replaced by the super powerful Torp TC1000, which allows us to draw 19 kilowatts from the original battery. As for suspensions, an EXT REA shock absorber, all articulated by a Warp 9 suspension linkage, ensures flawless shock absorption.
For the transmission, a reinforced DID chain and a 54-tooth Warp 9 aluminum sprocket guarantee reliability, all adjusted with a titanium Warp 9 chain tensioner.
Phase 3: The Secret to Grip and Reliability: The TuBliss
Here lies the upgrade that changed our vision of enduro. The original wheels have been replaced by a 21/18 set fitted with Michelin Tracker tires. But the real revolution is inside: the TuBliss system.
This system allows us to ride at ultra-low pressures for phenomenal grip, while locking the tire to the rim and almost completely eliminating the risk of pinch flats. After testing it, we were so impressed that we decided to offer it in our store. It's a real game-changer for anyone who takes enduro seriously.
Phase 4: The First Test and the Final Touch
During the first test, despite top-notch equipment preparation, the bike proved to be too aggressive, with an almost unmanageable "ON/OFF" throttle response. This is where the magic of the Torp controller comes in: after a simple throttle calibration in the app, the Ultra Bee was transformed. Smooth, powerful, and perfectly controllable.
The final result is a machine that is nothing like the one out of the box. Every part, every setting has been designed to create the ultimate enduro Ultra Bee. If this project inspires you, feel free to contact us for a custom build or to explore the parts on our website.
