Unboxing : On a Acheté la Nouvelle E-Ride Pro SR !

Unboxing: We Bought the New E-Ride Pro SR!

The electric off-road motorcycle market is booming, and one question keeps coming up: is there a real "turnkey" alternative to the legendary Sur-Ron Light Bee? A machine that would correct the original flaws without requiring thousands of euros in upgrades? This is the promise of the new E-Ride Pro SR. To get to the bottom of it, we decided to purchase it with our own funds to give you a 100% objective and unfiltered verdict.

Unboxing and First Impressions

Developed by an American team, the E-Ride Pro SR comes with an enticing spec sheet: a 72V 50Ah (3600 Wh) battery, a peak power of 25kW, and most importantly, L1e or L3e homologation. As soon as we opened the box, we could tell that the philosophy was different. The bike is well-finished, compact, and its aesthetics are a real success, reminiscent of the aggressiveness we so much liked on the Light Bee.

Original Upgrades? Component Analysis

It's when inspecting the details that the E-Ride Pro SR surprises the most. Where Sur-Ron owners often have to go through the "upgrade" box, this bike seems to have already done the work:

  • Suspensions: Stock Fastace fork and shock, a brand we've sold a lot of and which offers much better performance than the original KKE suspensions on Sur-Rons.
  • Braking: The calipers, pads, and hoses are visibly oversized, promising much more durable braking.
  • Transmission: The primary belt is much wider than that of a Light Bee, resembling reinforced kits like EBike Garage, a guarantee of reliability to handle the power.
  • Cockpit: The handlebars have a comfortable rise and the stem is "direct mount" type, offering a comfortable and high riding position, even for taller riders.

We also note excellent surprises such as a stock footpeg reinforcement bar, homologated turn signals and headlight with a refined design, and a comprehensive mobile application for configuring the bike.

Weight: The Only Flaw on Paper?

After assembly, it was time for the scale's verdict. The E-Ride Pro SR weighs 82.3 kg on our scale. That's about 14 kg more than a fully upgraded Light Bee, which brings it closer to the weight of a stock Ultra Bee. This is its main apparent flaw, but it must be put into perspective with its very competitive price of €7499 (L1e version) for an already very well-equipped machine.

Conclusion of the Unboxing

This initial analysis is extremely positive. The E-Ride Pro SR seems to have listened to feedback from Sur-Ron users to offer a machine that is "ready to ride" right out of the box, with quality components where it matters. The compromise seems to be the weight, but only a field test will tell us if this really affects the ride.

Stay tuned for the second part of this test, where we will push this machine to its limits! In the meantime, feel free to visit our store to find all parts for your Sur-Ron, Talaria, and soon, E-Ride!
