While the E-Ride Pro SR is an excellent machine straight out of the box, it shares a common flaw with the Sur-Ron Light Bee and the Talaria Sting: a front end that can lack rigidity and comfort when you start riding hard. To overcome this problem, we decided to test the ultimate weapon: the new Tech Suspension E39 fork, developed in Italy by the specialists at Formula.
Our goal? To transform our E-Ride Pro into a "Mini Ultra Bee": a light and nimble bike, but with the stability and shock absorption of a real dirt bike.
Tech E39: A "Real" Motorcycle Architecture
Forget adapted downhill mountain bike forks. The Tech E39 is designed specifically for "Light e-Motos". Its specifications speak for themselves:
- 39mm stanchions: Exceptional rigidity that offers precise steering, even in rock gardens or under heavy braking.
- 230mm travel: Enough to absorb the biggest shocks without bottoming out.
- Inverted Architecture (USD): As on all modern motocross bikes.
- Customizable: Available with triple clamps for 19" or 21" wheels, and especially with 5 different spring rates to adapt to your weight.
The Field Test: The "Magic Carpet" Effect
From the very first enduro rides, the difference with the original fork (which was a decent Fastace) is striking. The Tech E39 smooths out the terrain. Small bumps disappear, offering royal comfort ("it's a treat!").
But it's when the pace quickens that the magic happens. The bike no longer "dives" excessively under braking, it stays on course through roots and offers a stunning sense of security. You really feel like you've moved up a class of motorcycle. The (unintentional) crash test against a tree also proved the solidity of the whole assembly... and the effectiveness of our frame bumpers!
Conclusion: The Ultimate Enduro Bike?
Is this €1500 upgrade worth it? If you are looking for pure performance and comfort, the answer is a resounding YES. The E-Ride Pro SR equipped with the Tech E39 fork becomes a formidable machine, capable of keeping up with (or even surpassing in technical sections) much larger bikes, while maintaining its legendary agility. This is, for us, the definition of the "Mini Ultra Bee".
