Stark Varg & Light Bee vs DTR 125 de Papa : Choc des Générations au Crassier !

Stark Varg & Light Bee vs Dad's DTR 125: Clash of Generations at the Crassier!

Hello JW Shop community! Today we're back with a rather special article, full of emotion and decibels, both electric and... combustion-powered! Recently, we organized a memorable session at Crassier, a spot you're starting to know well. On the agenda: the last outing of our faithful Stark Varg before it joins a new owner, but also a big surprise with the arrival of my father and his legendary Yamaha DTR 125. A true clash of generations on two wheels!

A Farewell to the Stark Varg and Unexpected Reunions

The idea for this day was twofold: to give our Stark Varg, that beast of electric power that has thrilled us so much, one last hurrah, and to share a friendly moment with friends, with our faithful Sur-Ron and Talaria also joining in. But fate (and my parents!) decided otherwise by adding a touch of mechanical nostalgia to the equation.

Seeing my father arrive with my Yamaha DTR 125, the one from when I was 16, proudly displaying 85,000 kilometers on the clock, on the Crassier terrain, was something! A machine that marked my beginnings and that was going to rub shoulders with the latest generations of electric motorcycles. The scene was set for a day rich in action and improbable comparisons.

First Impressions: Crassier Under Two Philosophies

The terrain was drier than expected, offering good conditions for fun. While some were discovering the joys (and subtleties) of the Light Bee and the Talaria, I was getting used to the DTR. The feeling? It's hollow, the suspensions are a bit old-fashioned, but what a pleasure to rediscover these raw sensations! It's a bit like a trip back in time.

For its part, the Stark Varg, true to itself, devoured the terrain with disconcerting ease. The whoops deepened, the dust flew, and Fabien, our photographer for the day (thanks to him, find his Insta: @fabian_mct!), didn't know where to look to capture these moments.

The Clash of Generations: Technique, Drops and... Troubles!

The confrontation between the DTR and the electric bikes was particularly interesting in the technical sections. Where electric offers instant torque and disconcerting ease, the 2-stroke requires more engagement, finesse in throttle and clutch management. It's a different, more physical riding style, but with its undeniable charm.

The drops and jumps at Crassier were the ideal playground for the Stark Varg, which took off with impressive lightness despite its power. Even the DTR got into the game, performing tricks it probably never would have imagined!

Of course, an outing like this wouldn't be complete without a few mishaps. The DTR gave us a good moment of trouble by getting stuck on a tricky climb. A great moment of solidarity and laughter to get it out of that tight spot! That's also the spirit of riding with friends and family.

Improvised Drag Race and Breathtaking Landscapes

To spice things up a bit, we couldn't resist a small improvised drag race between the Stark Varg and... the 28kW Light Bee (the DTR would have had trouble keeping up, let's be honest!). The result? We'll let you discover it in the video, but let's just say that electric power spoke for itself!

Beyond the action, Crassier once again offered us magnificent landscapes, especially with the light of the setting sun during our last drop session. Perfect moments to appreciate the beauty of our playground.

Conclusion and Important Announcement: E-Track Days 4!

This day was a superb blend of nostalgia, modern performance, sharing, and fun. A beautiful farewell to our Stark Varg and proof that the pleasure of motorcycling can be found in all eras and with all types of engines.

And speaking of gatherings and shared enjoyment, we have a big announcement to make: the E-Track Days 4 will take place on the weekend of July 12-13 in Sichamps at Jimmy's! For this new edition, the price is now €80 for the weekend. On the program: 30 riders, Sur-Ron, Talaria, Stark Varg, SX and MX tracks, and a night enduro ride for the most daring. Book your spot quickly on JW Shop, it's going to be crazy!
