Since the American brand E-Ride Pro arrived in Europe, one question keeps coming up among electric enduro enthusiasts: should they go for the flagship model, the SR (25kW), or save €1000 by opting for its little sister, the 3.0 (16kW)?
At JW Shop, we don't just rely on technical specifications. We took both bikes and put them through the worst winter conditions (mud, snow, roots) for a real enduro test. And the result of this showdown will probably surprise you.
The Great Dilemma: 25kW vs 16kW
On paper, the power difference is striking. The SR boasts an impressive 25kW peak, while the 3.0 shows 16kW. In our acceleration test (standing start), the SR logically takes the lead. But in enduro, pure power rarely dictates the outcome.
In technical trails, narrow singletracks, and root-filled climbs, the 3.0's 16kW proves to be more than enough. Even better, the recent software update gives the 3.0 an extremely smooth and precise throttle feel. The bike is predictable; it pulls perfectly without ever dangerously surprising you, which immediately inspires confidence.
The Weight: The Real Game Changer (83kg vs 75kg)
This is where the E-Ride Pro 3.0 plays its trump card. With a slightly more compact motor, controller, and battery (though sharing the 72V voltage), the 3.0 weighs in at 75 kg on the scale, compared to 83 kg for the SR.
These 8 kilos of difference radically transform the bike's behavior:
- Extreme agility: The 3.0 weaves like a bicycle. It immediately reminded us of the ultra-playful feel and legendary lightness of the Sur-Ron Light Bee.
- Less fatigue: In technical sections, lifting the bike, placing it in ruts, or correcting a mistake requires much less energy.
- Immediate fun: Every bump becomes an excuse to jump. The bike is airy and lively.
Conversely, the SR (83kg) is closer to the behavior of a "mini Ultra Bee." It's more planted, more stable at high speeds, and handles big shocks better, but demands more physical engagement in winding sections.

Technical Differences to Be Aware Of
To justify the price difference of approximately €1000, the SR includes some equipment that the 3.0 does not have (or has in a different version):
- Transmission: The 3.0 has an aluminum sprocket (vs. steel on the SR) with 58 teeth (not 428 pitch).
- Suspension: Although both are equipped with the excellent Fastace brand, the 3.0's springs are slightly softer (50 lbs at the front) to accommodate its lighter weight.
- Ergonomics: The 3.0's seat is narrower, and the front fender is shorter (like a Light Bee), unlike the SR, which is more "massive."
- Regeneration: The SR has a very practical thumb-operated engine brake trigger, which is absent on the 3.0.
Conclusion: Which one is right for you?
The verdict is clear: the E-Ride Pro 3.0 is not an "inferior SR"; it's a bike with a different philosophy.
👉 Choose the E-Ride Pro 3.0 if: You're coming from a Light Bee, you love riding in very technical singletracks, you prioritize lightness, maximum agility, and the ultra-fun "toy" aspect. For us, it's the worthy successor to the Light Bee!
👉 Choose the E-Ride Pro SR if: You're looking for absolute power, you like strong acceleration, open terrain (or Supermoto), and you prefer a stable, reassuring bike that can handle big shocks.
